From Sabrina Carpenter to Chappell Roan, some of the women behind this year’s biggest hits are set to make their mark in the industry as the Recording Academy announces the nominees for the 67th Grammy Awards on Friday.
Carpenter and Roan are seen as strong contenders for the Best New Artist award. Both have had great success this year, drawing large crowds to festivals and ascending the Billboard charts.
Two of the industry’s biggest stars, Taylor Swift and Beyoncé, are expected to be nominated again this year. Swift, who holds the record for the most Album of the Year wins, released her 11th studio album, *The Tortured Poet’s Department*, in April and will wrap up her massive Eras Tour in December.
Beyoncé is likely to extend her record as the most-nominated artist to date. After missing out at the Country Music Awards, she might also be nominated in the Best Country Album category. Post Malone, who released his debut country album this year, could possibly be shortlisted in the country music categories.
Fans are also anticipating nominations for Charli XCX in the Pop category as well as for Album of the Year. Her album *Brat* served as the catalyst for several of the most significant trends of the year.
In rap, Kendrick Lamar could be nominated alongside Drake for his hit diss track, *Not Like Us*, one of the summer’s biggest songs.
Recording Academy members completed the first round of voting in mid-October to determine the nominations. This year, the Academy said in a news release that it made numerous significant changes to the awards procedure, including changing eligibility criteria and renaming some categories.
The show will also debut its newly renamed *Harry Belafonte Best Song for Social Change Award*, recently reclassified to honor the late Calypso star and civil rights champion Belafonte.
The Grammy Awards will air on CBS on February 2.
Here is the list of categories that will be published on Friday at 10:45 A.M. ET.
